Currently the hole functionallity of these patches could only be used with a patched player called "xineliboutput".

You can use the sd_only_properties patch in vdr-xine because it does not depend on any specific player.
The "xineliboutput" player distribution contains a xine post plugin called "autocrop" that can be used with
vdr-xine. 
For the frame grab functionality the vdr-xine player has to be enhanced. Maybe someone can port the corresponding
source code from the "xineliboutput" player to the vdr-xine player.
