Are you sure, this is not an issue within the stream itself? I couldn't think 
of a reason for this at the moment.

First of all thanks for your detailed bug report. I didn't have the time to 
work actively on xine-vdpau lately. Anyway could you maybe upload a short 
sample of each of the channels by ftp to: jusst.de user: vdpau at jusst.de, 
password: vdpau
I will try to look at this early next week then.

When you see the freezes, do you see the whole desktop freezing or only the 
video? - In case it is the whole desktop you might be seeing this driver 
issue:
